Partner Spotlight – Davenport Associates

When it comes to property projects, the complexities and intricacies are plentiful. That’s why choosing the right project management and cost consultancy firm is key. As chartered property professionals specialising in the prime residential market, Davenport Associates have the expertise and depth of understanding to offer a tailored service, ensuring projects run smoothly, on time and on budget.

To find out more about the services that Davenport Associates offer we sat down with Managing Director, Ross Van Ot, to talk about how Davenport was born, why they choose to be a deliberately small firm and how the ‘meticulous service’ of his expert team can make substantial projects seem like light work for support staff…

Let’s start with how it all began. Could you give us a bit of back story as to how Davenport Associates started?

Simon Davenport founded the company in 2009, to provide private clients with independent advice in relation to residential property projects. Simon recognised that clients were somewhat exposed, since the private sector has historically lacked some of the rigour that exists in commercially driven projects. He began by assisting a private family client with a major project in Chelsea. This was followed by other projects, for the same family. We took on our first project in the country in 2012, and ever since our portfolio has remained a mix of projects both in London and in the country. I joined the company in 2017, introducing quantity surveying services, and in 2021, took over the reins from Simon, who stepped down entirely from the day to day dealings of the business.

You describe yourself as a ‘niche firm of chartered property professionals specialising in the prime residential market’. Elaborating on this, what it is that sets you apart from your competitors?

Davenport is a deliberately small firm, to enable a highly personal approach with all clients. I am very detail orientated, and oversee all projects, with other members of the team supporting me on day-to-day delivery. I ensure that I always have capacity for in-depth knowledge about each of our projects, and am closely connected to the clients, and /or their support staff, for the full duration. The team is made up only of Seniors, no Juniors, and as such delivers a consistently meticulous service which is typically demanded by our high/ultra-high net worth client base. The company was established to protect private clients, and as such will always remain fiercely independent.

As well as your own specialist team you also work alongside leading interior designers and architects. How do you decide who is the right fit for a collaboration and what is it that you specifically look for?

Ideally, we are involved with projects from the very beginning. This enables us to advise on the design team, as well as the likely cost and programme. We are closely connected to numerous best-in-class architects and interior designers, as well as, for example, garden designers, audio-visual specialists, surveyors and heritage consultants. Every project and every client is different, and our design team recommendations are always tailored. We consider stylistic preferences, the size and scale of a practice and their ability to deliver, the likely fees and of course the chemistry. Building or refurbishing a private home can take a good few years and it makes all the difference to work with professionals who clients and their support staff like, trust, and feel wholly supported by.

In what ways do Davenport Associates make a private client and their support staff’s life easier when taking on a project?

I will respond to this question by quoting a PA who I have worked closely with over the last few years. She was given a great deal of responsibility by her Principal to oversee the delivery of a substantial project, creating a 12,000 sq. ft new build family home in London. Following the project, she said: “It was because of Ross, who was so organised, that I got on top of everything. Ross helped me to build a structure, so for example I could easily see what had been paid so far, and what was remaining to be paid. It provided such a comfort to me, and he helped me to set up systems that meant I didn’t need to be dependent on him, because he had explained everything so well, and I really understood what was going on”.

Could you tell us about a particularly unique project or one that stands out in your mind as being extra special?

There are many I could mention but will highlight one of our current projects, which is located in Ireland, and extensive. It is a project that will span a number of years, and our client is strongly motivated to regenerate the estate with huge sensitivity to the historic fabric, and to the local community. This is hugely gratifying, and we are enjoying working closely with the clients’ representative on the many decisions that must be made on (almost) a daily basis.

And finally, are there any exciting developments in the pipeline for Davenport Associates that you would like to share with the BBB community?

I am in the process of growing the team, which is exciting. Not on a scale that detracts from what we are all about, but just to enable us to have a little more capacity, since demand is strong. In addition, we are delighted to have access to some wonderful images from a recently completed project and I look forward to sharing these publicly soon. Since we work predominantly on private homes, we are very often restricted from sharing images. Therefore, I am particularly excited about being able to share a new example of our work in the months ahead.

The Paris Fashion Week Cheat Sheet

By Rachael Perry

Fashion month is well and truly underway, and it will draw to a close with its grand finale in the fashion capital of the world; Paris. It’s no secret that Paris and its people exude ‘chic’, and Paris fashion week is the ultimate opportunity for fashionistas and their fans to flock together to celebrate the diverse craftsmanship that designers have to offer. It’s a feast for the eyes, not only on the runway, but the street style also excels season after season and is an opportunity for everyone to get involved in some way. I’m a red carpet stylist, and private shopper for clients all over the world and I’m here to offer you five insider tips and takeaways that will offer a little bit of insight into how to cope with the hectic pace of fashion month.

Pick your shoes wisely…

Unless you’re driving between shows (which is often a rookie error because the roads become chaos!) you’re likely to be on your feet for eight or nine hours a day, so I cannot stress the importance of picking good shoes. Save your heels for the afterparties, and go for a boot or a good loafer for running around during the day. By day three, you’ll be extremely grateful for that decision!

Fuel up…

Anyone who tells you that people in fashion don’t eat is fibbing. It’s perhaps even more important during fashion month because you’re constantly on the move and your schedule is always back to back, so grabbing a bite to eat when you can is essential. You don’t know when your next meal will be. Lunch at eleven am? Absolutely. However, fashion week is also an opportunity to catch up with old friends because it brings everyone together in one place, so use the time wisely. Enjoy the excuse to go out for (a very quick) lunch and make the most of being out and about with the people you don’t get to see as often as you’d like, in places you don’t often get to visit. Paris is especially good for this – charcuterie and a glass of vin rouge is mandatory.

Layers are your best friend…

You’re going from running around outside to whizzing into show venues, jumping into a cab or hopping on the tube, so you want to be able to de-layer if you overheat and keep warm if you’re on the move. Think light sweaters that will fit in a handbag or can be tied around your shoulders if necessary, and long, light coats that are easy to move in.

Say yes to everything…

Take this one with a slight pinch of salt, but generally, fashion week comes with plenty of last-minute invites to parties, presentations and events, and my advice would be to say yes to them all. After two years of lockdown and not being allowed out of the house, it’s more important than ever to embrace all the social occasions that life throws at us, but also you never know who you’re going to meet and what opportunities may arise. Fashion week is supposed to be fun, and not everybody gets the chance to get involved. It’s also an important opportunity for industry networking, and connecting with other like-minded individuals.

Don’t panic if you don’t get photos of everything…

It sounds like a cliché but it’s true; live in the moment and enjoy what you’re watching. The front row consists of hundreds of iPhones trying to capture every runway moment, but filming everything means you risk not taking it in properly in real life. Fashion week is a hive of creativity, an accumulation of thousands of hours’ worth of work that deserves recognition and appreciation. You can find photos of every show online afterwards (and normally the quality is better than an iPhone anyway), and not everyone is lucky enough to be able to attend shows in person so make the most of that.

Partner Spotlight – Hamilton George Care

At some point in all of our lives we will likely have to consider the option of live-in care for a loved one. And whether it’s a process you’re currently going through or simply a glimpse into what the future may hold, it’s a poignant part of life and a weighty decision. To understand more on the topic, we caught up with Fred Lloyd George, Founder & Managing Director of Hamilton George Care to discuss the evolving landscape of live-in care, what sets them apart and much more…

Fred Lloyd George - MD Hamilton George Care

Please could you tell us the story of how Hamilton George Care began?

The story of Hamilton George Care began in 2011 when I met Alex Hamilton during a training course in the Brecon Beacons for the British Army. Both of us having similar backgrounds in health and care, we found ourselves becoming a support system for friends and family who were struggling to find reliable, quality care for their loved ones amidst a challenged system, exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. It was from this need that Hamilton George Care was founded, with the goal of providing a service that is wholly centered on the individual, is family-oriented, and creating a positive experience with care.

Could you explain what Hamilton George Care does and what sets you apart from other live-in care providers?

Hamilton George Care provides live-in care services that prioritise clinical excellence. We are fully regulated so are responsible for understanding the requirements, identifying a care structure and carer to deliver this, and making sure the care runs smoothly.

What sets us apart from other providers is our custom-tailored approach that takes into account the unique needs and lifestyle of each client, while also involving their family in the care process. We empower our clients by giving them choice and control, and we provide them with the best carers in the UK, who are matched to their specific clinical and lifestyle needs and work to the client’s timelines.

We have assembled a highly skilled and experienced team to deliver the best tailored care in the UK. Our Head of Care Strategy, Guy, has over a decade of personal and professional experience in managing care. He is supported by Alyce, our in-house registered nurse, and Rachel, our Senior Relationship Manager who has over 20 years of experience in providing high-quality support to different British Royal Households.

We believe that our processes, support, and carers provide the highest quality tailored care service in the UK and this is reflected in the fact that 75% of our new clients come through referrals.

What advice would you give to families that are considering live-in care for a loved one?

Firstly, start planning early. Care is often needed quickly and it can be a significant investment with various options and quality. To ensure that you receive the best care for your loved one, it is crucial to have a clear understanding of the type of support needed and where to find it. Speaking with an expert, such as a fully managed agency like Hamilton George, can be a helpful starting point. They not only provide carers but also manage the entire care process for clients. It’s important to understand that you don’t have to make a decision with the first agency you speak to, they can guide you through the initial stages, alleviate some stress, provide answers to your questions, give advice and act as an informed sounding board.

Secondly, recognise that acceptance can be difficult. Nobody wants to have a carer in their home. It’s a recognition that they are losing their independence and often unrealistic expectations of what they are able to do. However, when the person receiving care is allowed to maintain as much control as possible, involved in the process, and the right carer is selected, they can feel more empowered and accept the situation. Our role as an agency is to act diplomatically and to understand the wishes of all parties involved. We use the expertise of our in-house nurse and the experience of our Head of Care Strategy to determine how care can be provided in the best way possible while ensuring the client’s safety. With our experience and clinical expertise, we take on the responsibility and minimise the stress for the person organising care.

You state that “care should be life enhancing, not life limiting” how do Hamilton George Care embody this philosophy?

At Hamilton George Care, we strive to embody our philosophy that care should be life-enhancing, not life-limiting. To achieve this, we have established a company mission to understand the unique situations faced by all of our clients and to take the stress out of finding and managing care by providing exceptional clinical management and dedicated, life-enhancing support.

To achieve this mission, we:

  1. Work with a limited number of clients to provide highly tailored service, believing in quality over quantity.
  2. Have rigorous training and selection criteria for our carers to ensure that we only work with the best and most dedicated individuals. We provide our own training, including etiquette courses, to ensure that our carers meet our high standards.
  3. Meet with our clients and their families several times before care begins to gain a detailed understanding of their needs, and use this information to recommend a care strategy and carer that fits their unique situation.
  4. Give clients the opportunity to interview their carers before they arrive at their home. This allows clients to feel more comfortable and confident in the care they will receive.

We are dedicated to providing a personalised and high-quality care experience for our clients and their families, and we strive to make a positive impact on their lives.

As Founder and Managing Director of Hamilton George Care, what is your biggest motivation?

I would say my biggest motivation is the ability to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our clients. The opportunity to provide exceptional clinical and lifestyle support for both the client and their family is incredibly rewarding. However, what truly drives me is the ability to genuinely enhance the lives of those who come to us for care. The ability to develop a tailored care strategy that truly makes a difference in someone’s life is what motivates me to continue working in this field. It is a privilege to be a part of a team that is committed to providing life-enhancing care services and it is a source of great satisfaction when we are able to achieve this goal for our clients.

How do you see the landscape of live-in care evolving in the future?

The landscape of live-in care is evolving and I believe it will continue to do so in the future. One of the key trends that we are currently seeing is a shift towards upgrades in the quality of care services and the value received. This is driven by a more informed client base which is willing to invest more in their care needs to ensure that they receive high-quality care from a competent team. The Covid-19 pandemic has brought attention to the importance of health and care needs, and as a result, people are becoming more aware of what they value in terms of care.

In the future, I see a continued demand for live-in care services as the population ages and the need for care increases. Technology will also play a greater role in the delivery of care services, making it easier for carers to provide care and for clients to receive it. I also believe that we will see an increased focus on the well-being of carers, with better pay and support provided to ensure that they can deliver excellent care. Overall, my hope is that with the evolution of live-in care, the quality of care will continue to improve, making it more accessible and affordable for all.

Inspiration for an Active January and Beyond

By Tim Colston – Tenth Avenue Leisure

It’s common for people to let their fitness routines slip during the holiday season, with all the additional stress, social obligations, and tempting treats that come with it. However, it’s important to remember that maintaining a good level of physical fitness can have numerous benefits for both physical and mental health. Here are some tips for an active January and beyond…

  1. Set achievable goals: it’s important to be realistic about what you can achieve in terms of your fitness routine. Consider setting achievable goals such as walking for 30 minutes a day or doing a short home workout twice a week.
  2. Stay active: even if you can’t make it to the gym, there are plenty of ways to stay active. Consider going for a walk or a hike, participating in a fun outdoor activity or doing a workout at home using bodyweight exercises or home gym equipment.
  3. Incorporate physical activity into your plans. For example, you could go for a walk or bike ride with family or friends, or plan an active outing such as skiing or snowboarding.
  4. Don’t overdo it: it’s important to listen to your body and not push yourself too hard. If you’re feeling particularly stressed or tired, it’s okay to take a break and rest.
  5. Make healthy lifestyle choices: in addition to staying active, it’s important to make healthy lifestyle choices to support your overall fitness and well-being. This can include eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and managing stress through techniques such as relaxation or mindfulness.
  6. Stay motivated: it can be easy to lose motivation in the cold and dreary winter months. To stay motivated, try to find activities that you enjoy, set small, achievable goals, and track your progress. You could also consider enlisting the help of a friend or family member to hold you accountable and provide support.

Remember, the most important thing is to find an approach to fitness that works for you and that you can maintain over the long term. It’s more than okay to have a few indulgences, but by prioritising your health and well-being, you’ll be able to enjoy those treats while still maintaining your fitness.

The Top 5 Resorts for Non-Skiers

When it comes to group getaways there’s no denying that a ski holiday is one of the most idyllic options for friends and families alike. And while for the most part, the opportunity to hit the slopes every day is a dream come true, there will often be at least one member of the group that’s just along for the après!

So, if the slopes are a snow-go from you, we’ve compiled a list of the top 5 resorts and their alternative activities that are perfect for non-skiers…

Zermatt

As well as a plethora of famous mountain restaurants and a selection of quaint shops and boutiques, there are some very interesting options on offer for non-skiers in Zermatt.

What to do…

For glacial views as far as the eye can see jump on the Gornergrat Railway. The cogwheel railway takes you up from the village to 3,100 metres above sea level. Take in the constant view of the famous Matterhorn as you ride through idyllic forests to reach the ultimate panoramic view.

If something a little closer to sea level is more to your taste there’s the Matterhorn Museum or perhaps a romantic stroll through the Hinterdorf, the oldest part of the village of Zermatt.

Finally, no non-skiers trip to Zermatt is complete without a trip to Vernissage. Home to an art gallery, lounge bar, club and cinema, a trip to Vernissage is an unforgettable experience that touches all the senses.

Where to stay…

One of the foremost chalets in the Alps, Chalet Marmottière is home to a host of spectacular features including a huge indoor swimming pool, bowling alley, cinema room and wine cellar. Marmottière is also the perfect place to relax and unwind after an activity filled day with a hot tub, jacuzzi, steam room, hammam and sauna to enjoy. This true pinnacle of luxury will leave you wanting for nothing.

Chamonix

Despite being known as the extreme sports capital of the world, there are still lots of alternative ways to fill your time in Chamonix.

What to do…

If you’re after a taste of high altitude then Aiguille du Midi, the highest cable car in France is a must. Billed as Chamonix’s number one tourist attraction, it’s the ultimate answer to drinking in the panoramic views of Mont Blanc and the Chamonix Valley as a non-skier.

If culture is what you crave then a trip to Musée Alpin is a must. Housed in a former palace dating back to the early 20th century, the museum tells the rich and fascinating history of the French Alps through prints, photography, rock crystals, costumes and ancient artefacts.

For a tipple or two there’s no better spot then ChaChaCha. Join one of their regular wine tasting events or take a seat on the terrace and share a glass of wine with friends in the warmer months. Don’t forget to pick up a bottle of your favourite vino from the shop on your way out!

Where to stay…

Situated within walking distance of Chamonix town, Chalet Couttet is the perfect spot to soak up uninterrupted views of Mont Blanc. The luxury self-catering option comes complete with a private garden, heated outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, wellness suite, five bedrooms and an enormous open plan living space.

Courchevel

It may well be known as the world’s ski capital but Courchevel also has a whole lot more to offer than just slopes and ski runs.

What to do…

If fine dining is your thing then you’re in the right place. Courchevel is the ski resort with most Michelin starred restaurants, so there will be no shortage of impeccable cuisine on offer. Head to Michelin-starred Le 1947 for a taste of Executive Chef Yannick Alléno’s gastronomic genius, paying tribute to the natural treasures of the mountains.

Shopping lovers can also rejoice as Courchevel’s snow-covered streets are home to over 40 designer stores. You’ll find Chanel, Dior, Gucci and more as well as some of the finest jewellers in town for those extra special vacation gifts.

For something slightly more adrenalin fuelled, Courchevel also offers a host of non-ski snow activities. Become the ‘musher’ of your own huskies on a sledge drawn ride or test your skills on a skidoo at one of the organised snowmobile tours.

Where to stay…

Sleeping up to 16 guests, Chalet Tahoe is a six-floor spectacle that will truly take your breath away. As well as being in strolling distance of the centre of Courchevel 1850, the chalet is home to an indoor swimming pool, giant jacuzzi, private gym, massage room, cinema and your very own bar.

St. Moritz

Hailed as one of the most exclusive ski resorts in the Alps, St. Moritz has a lot to offer. As well as Michelin starred restaurants and designer boutiques, why not try these activities on for size.

What to do…

For food and drink enthusiasts a visit to Glattfelder is a must. And while coffee and caviar may seem like an extraordinary combination, both can be sampled, tasted and taken home at this quaint, somewhat hidden shop in the centre of St. Moritz village.

If a day at the races appeals to your nature then round up the troops and head to White Turf, a unique, exclusive event with exciting horse racing, gourmet catering, live music and inspiring art exhibitions. Soak up the winter sunshine on the frozen lake among the stunningly beautiful, snow-capped mountains of St. Moritz.

Finally, check in to Badrutt’s Palace Wellness spa for some restorative royal pampering. Take in the spectacular views from the indoor infinity pool then restore and renew with a luxurious massage treatment.

Where to stay…

The aforementioned Badrutt’s Palace Hotel of course! Situated amidst breathtakingly beautiful and unspoiled scenery, the Palace has long been hailed as a landmark in the centre of St. Moritz. Offering stunning lake views, discreet service and traditional elegance, it’s no wonder the hotel has been a favourite of celebrities and royals alike since its opening in 1896.

Lech

The poster child of Austrain ski resorts, Lech offers all you would expect from a luxury alpine village. For non-skiers, its picturesque beauty can be enjoyed in many different ways.

What to do…

Take in the pretty chocolate box style village of Lech on a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride. Listen to the distant roar of the Lech River and feel the tingle of the cool mountain air as you enjoy the unforgettable panoramic views.

Trade skiing for skating by heading to the open-air rink in Zürs. Enjoy the crisp winter air whilst gliding along to great music with a warming punch in hand. For a romantic twist, head to the rink on Wednesday evenings for candlelit skating beneath the starry sky.

There’s no better way for non-skiers to enjoy the stunning scenery than a winter hiking trail. The 40 kilometre plus network of trails around Lech Zürs take you through a unique winter landscape with many picturesque staging points along the way to take a well-earned rest.

Where to stay…

The Balegia Penthouse is a stunning self-catered apartment located inside a luxury residence. Each of the four bedrooms has wonderful en suite shower rooms while the luxurious living space offers the perfect relaxation space after a long day of activities.

Partner Spotlight – Introducing the Whitecalm Wellbeing App

In recent years we’ve seen a seismic shift in the importance of mental health and wellbeing. We’ve reached a place where we can speak openly and freely to loved ones and professionals about how we’re truly feeling and the increase in available resources has been gratefully embraced. One such resource that has recently been launched is the Whitecalm Wellbeing app – a scientifically backed, one-stop platform that combines mental health, diet and exercise to transform our lifestyle and help us to live a healthier, happier, more balanced life. Earlier this month BBB sat down with Whitecalm Wellbeing Founder & CEO, Rebecca Tucker, to find out more about the revolutionary new app.

Let’s start with a little bit of history. How did it all begin for Whitecalm Wellness?

Having qualified as a scientist I then went on to do an MA in Education and became a teacher of human biology. I then came out of education and went into a very entrepreneurial environment. I became Managing Director at British concierge company, Quintessentially, and then after nine years, I chose to leave and set up Whitecalm as I noticed the lack of support available for burnt out women trying to juggle work and family life.

The first incarnation of Whitecalm was retreats, but it soon became apparent that women didn’t have the time or resources for such getaways. I then decided to fill the gap in the market by offering shorter luxury breaks – days and weekends that would take place in 5-star spa hotels. The shorter breaks were a resounding success! We received numerous 5-star reviews from our clients and got rated number one in Timeout and Tatler.

Six months later I secured investment for our UK expansion plan but unfortunately around this same time I got diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer. After a year of treatment and two major surgeries, I can now thankfully say that I am in remission. Whilst going through my cancer treatment I realised that there was no one place online that I could go to that would support me through my recovery. This realisation planted the first seeds of the Whitecalm app into my mind. Coincidentally this happened around March 2020, the exact same time that the whole world was forced to go digital.

Congratulations on the new app! Could you tell us a little bit more about how it works?

As I mentioned, my goal was to have everything in one place so that is exactly what the Whitecalm app offers. From exercise, sleep, mental health and lifestyle to menopause, financial wellbeing, meditation and diet, it’s all there in one place. I wanted to make the app as holistic as possible because in order to be balanced you have to consider every aspect of your lifestyle.

The app is all singing and all dancing – jam packed with interactivity and engagement for users to enjoy. Features of the app include a range of expert trainers, an organic and ethically sourced e-shop, gamification in terms of point and rewards and a virtual assistant named Luke! User can also track their water intake, steps, sleep and even their blood pressure. Not only that, but the app is also all scientifically backed, which was incredibly important to me. The Mayo Clinic has co-devised the wellbeing survey and therefore everything that we do now is scientifically validated.

A user’s journey begins by completing a comprehensive survey. Once completed the app’s algorithms will then provide them with content that is uniquely specific to them. For example, if a person is suffering badly with their mental health, the app will provide them with daily recommendations, live interactive streams, healthy tips, new classes and benefits that are tailored to their needs.

What’s also very close to my heart is that we have as much diversity on the platform as possible. We have instructors of every ethnicity, cookalongs that cover all cuisines and the aim is to make the app as rich as possible – whether that’s a disabled instructor or someone that’s partially sighted. We want to include everyone and ensure that there is as much representation as possible.

What sets the Whitecalm app apart from other apps on the market?

I think that it’s our scientifically backed programmes combined with our points and rewards systems that set us apart from other apps. We want to keep our members engaged and on track by providing them with the blueprint of a new, healthy, interactive lifestyle that works for them. It’s also very important to us that our members understand why they are doing things which is the reason for incorporating the science behind the exercises so that members can understand not just how things work but crucially why they will be beneficial to their wellbeing.

Who is the app for and what are some of the benefits of becoming part of the Whitecalm platform?

I would honestly say that our app is for everyone. Not only is it available in 108 different languages, but we have also made sure to cover and incorporate all age ranges, genders and ethnicities.

One of the main benefits of the Whitecalm platform is that everything is in one place, which eradicates the need for multiple apps and that constant search to find what you need. Also, as I mentioned previously, all of our data is scientifically backed and provided by experts. For example, The Mayo Clinic diet on the app is rated the top diet in the USA.

Whitecalm also offers workplace wellbeing programmes through the app. Could you tell us more about the initiative and why it’s so important for businesses to provide employee wellbeing solutions?

Ninety billion pounds is lost every year in absenteeism through ill health or mental illness, so for me providing workplace programmes to staff is an absolute no brainer. If companies look after their employees then their employees will look after them and their business.

We offer out our workplace wellbeing programme to businesses and also support them further with workshops, webinars and wellbeing days around specific issues. These workshops and dedicated wellbeing days are incredibly beneficial to companies and are a really nice treat for people that need time away from their routine to learn how to new habits and create a healthier lifestyle.

The last two years has seen work culture change drastically. What would be your top wellbeing tips for people working from home?

First and foremost is to take regular breaks. When you’re sitting at a computer it’s so easy to get absorbed into your daily routine and not stop. My advice is for people to take a 5-minute break every hour as this will drastically improve productivity.

Next up is to get out into the fresh air. Going for a daily walk allows you to soak up some vitamin D, boost your immunity and remain calm. Stress is one of the number one causes of most illnesses so the more that you can adopt healthy habits to combat stress, the better.

And finally, don’t snack while you’re at your desk. When you sit and snack in front of a screen your body is not engaging with what you’re eating so you will end up eating more because your brain isn’t fully registering what it’s consuming. Adopt mindful eating by moving away from your desk and taking the time to taste, smell and really enjoy what you’re putting into your body.

And finally, what’s your vision for the Whitecalm app in the future?

The vision is for the Whitecalm app to become the best global wellbeing platform in the world; emanating the fact that we are one world, functioning together through diversity and inclusion of all human beings to create a healthier, happier lifestyle for all.
